Wedding Day Woes
My best friend, Meagan, and I were at my house planning my wedding. There was a sudden knock at the door. (It sounded like it was playing a scary toon from an old time movie.) Meagan went to answer it, and when she came back she acted very strangely. I asked her what was wrong, but she didn’t say a thing. All she did was stand there shocked and afraid. Then, all of a sudden, she started babbling about something. I couldn’t understand what she was saying, and then she started to shake out of control! I called 911, and the ambulance took her to the hospital.
About a week later, I received a phone call that my friend had passed away in her sleep. They had no explanation as to why she died. She was healthy and young and happy.
When my wedding day, came I couldn’t focus. It was really sad knowing that my best friend wouldn’t be at my wedding. This should have been the happiest day of my life! When it was time to walk down the aisle, I couldn’t help but cry. I had a sense that she was there with me. It would come, and it would go. As soon as I stepped out of the doors into the church, the sense got stronger than ever. I walked up to my groom just as planned. We said our vows, and then, when we were walking down the aisle, I saw Meagan. She was smiling and waving and congratulating me on my big day. I smiled back, and then she vanished. I can’t get the experience of her death out of my head. But at the same time, I was as happy as could be. I knew she was there with me!
