Ghost Stories

Tobi's Shadow

Personal Experience by Tobi

It was a cold, snowy night, as it usually is in Colorado. I was sitting on my bed, reading a book. I was about five paragraphs in, when I heard footsteps coming from the hall. My dad was gone that night, so I was curious as to who was walking through the house. I walked out into the hallway and looked both ways. No sign of anyone or anything. I was still curious, so I walked down the hallway. Below me, the floor creaked, since there was a cellar door beneath the rug. After not seeing any possible sources for the noise, I shrugged it off and walked back into my room. Before I could even pick my book back up, the noise from the hallway came again. I once again went to see who was walking around in the hall. Instead of not finding anything, at the end of the hall, a tall shadow stood. I stood about five feet from it and stared at it. I had done a lot of research, and I was really interested in ghosts, so I continued to stare at it.

It must have been at least five minutes before anything happened. The shadow took a step forward. I stayed where I was and glared at the figure. It turned and ran toward the door. When I got into the living room, the shadow was gone. I opened the door to see if there was any sign of it. The only sign of my encounter was the fresh footprints in the snow. Ever since my encounter, I wait for the shadow to reappear. I wait for it to come back, so I can figure out who, or what, The Shadow is.
