Ghost Stories

The Telephone Devil

Personal Experience by Pedro

I am Pedro, and I'm eleven. This story of mine happened last summer.

I was sitting on the couch, watching this movie called The Exorcism of Emily Rose. I had watched it before, so I wasn't as scared as the first time. When it was over, I switched the channel to some other movie.

About halfway through the new movie, my cell phone rang. I read the caller ID, and it was in some other language I didn't recognize. I answered it anyway -- and I firmly believe it was a demon or something demonic. I am Christian, so I believe in God and the Devil and all of that spiritual realm stuff.

When I answered the phone, whatever was on the other end started laughing strangely -- it was like the laughing kept changing. I asked who it was, and it screamed loudly enough to make my nose bleed. I quickly hung up the phone, and my ear began to bleed, so I got some cotton balls to stop the bleeding.

At the end of the movie my ear was still bleeding. I looked at my phone call history, and the top ID said my phone number. It was right there.

I flipped the phone closed and put it into my pocket. I got my cat and sat down to watch some cheesy movie, trying to distract myself. I went onto the recordings menu, and that's when my mom came through the front door.

I barely glanced up to say hi, and turned back to the TV. That's when I remembered her saying that she would probably stay at a hotel for the evening. She was shopping and stuff all day.

So when I turned back, it was to see my mom's face to turn in to something hideous. The being had a tail and dark red skin. The face was the worst, with sharp ears and millions of teeth with what I could swear were the faces of my friends and family on them in blood. They looked like they were being tortured.

I prayed furiously, and it turned to dust. Then my cell phone rang. It was in that same language. I picked it up and the thing said, "I will be coming soon." I screamed and told it to leave me alone. My cat was hissing at the thing and at my cell phone when the call came through.

I went on the computer to look up the language, but I could find anything on it. Then I looked up Paranormal. There, I found the language -- the language of the devil. The text said, if you believe in God, stay away!

The next day my mom came home and I was able to talk to her and my friends about what happened. They all thought I was faking it. They came over my house that weekend, and I showed them my phone history. Instead of my number, it was in the Devil's language. It was strange.

Right after I showed them, my phone rang, and it was the language. When I timidly answered it, what sounded like millions of voices said, "Don't forget me!"

Then the laughter.

I will never forget that day. I continue to get calls in that language.
