The Man in the Coveralls
I am convinced that the place where I work is haunted, and I'm not the only one who feels this way, let alone the only one who has witnessed the guy in coveralls who hangs out in the back room. First, I work at a newspaper and work out back in the warehouse. The paper hasn't always been in this location, it use to be on the other side of town and in a much smaller building. The building where we work now use to be a factory and we've asked around to know if anyone was killed or died while the factory was still there. Needless to say, we haven't gotten any answers. Now, here's my story!
I had been working at this place for about two weeks when one night I had to make a trip to the ladies room. As it so happens, the washrooms are down a narrow hallway (if you can call it that) and it leads into a large storage area out back where no one hardly ever goes. Of course, there's hardly ever any lights on back there except for maybe a few, so it's always dark back there. On this particular night, I was heading down the hallways and happened to look back into this storage area and swore that I saw a man in coveralls standing against a back wall, yes it was dark back there but like I said, they do keep a few lights on and I was able to see the whole room. As I said, I swore that I saw a man standing back there and to me he was in some kinda 'freeze frame' mode. He wasn't moving but just standing in one spot with his arms at his sides and starring at the floor. I looked, looked away, then quickly looked back when it registered in my head what I had seen. However, the man I had though I had seen was gone. I told myself that it was a shadow of something or something leaning against the wall that I had mistaken for a person. I went about my business and pretty much forgot about what I had seen.
However, a couple of months later, I happen to over hear two women who I work with talking about each of them seeing a man in coveralls' hanging out in the back room, the very room where I myself had seen him. My ears perked up and I suddenly remembered back to that night when I though I had seen a man in coveralls. Suddenly I thought that this couldn't be a coincidence and suddenly started to think that perhaps something else, something 'paranormal' was going on. After, as other people started to come forward saying that they too had witnessed this man, we knew then that we must have a ghost! Of course, our boss doesn't believe in it nor does her boss and they seem to think that we're seeing things. However, do they think we're seeing things when machinery will suddenly stop on its own accord or carts will move suddenly as though someone has pushed it??? Just recently, our ghost made his presence known in the woman's washroom when a co-worker witnessed a dark shadow in the mirror behind her. Creepy!
Who this guy is we don't know, but we do think that he probably worked in the factory before the newspaper bought the building and moved in there. We're still trying to find out if there were any accidents or if anyone died while on the job there. So far, we haven't been able to find anything, but we're still looking! Wish us luck!
