Ghost Stories

My friend and I were out in our backyards playing around. There was this fence that separated our yards from the people who lived behind with a “No Trespassing” sign on it, and of course, us being kids, we wanted to know what was over there. We went up to the fence, and there was a log that was perched up on it, so I went up to it first to get a better look. I saw a barn, and inside the barn window was what I thought was a person, standing inside. I stood there for a few seconds and the person never moved. The only thing that was weird about it was that his body would get really bright and then fade to where you could just barely see it, but his head stayed the same. I also noticed that he was wearing what appeared to be Civil War clothing. I could see his uniform, the gunpowder holder, and his gun. To me, he looked like he was guarding the place or was a lookout.

I asked my friend to come up and see if she could see it, but I didn’t let her know what I had seen, and she saw it too. I decided to go over there to get a better look at it and I jumped over the fence, but I took maybe six steps and I got this overwhelming sensation of something coming after me, even though nothing was around me. I was so scared that I ran back to the fence, jumped it, and ran home. To this day, I have never been back.
