Sonny's Lady by the Window
When I was 9 years old, we lived in an old house. This was back in the early ‘80's. It was a two bedroom duplex. My sister and I slept in one room, and my parents in the other room. I remember, I woke up in the middle of the night real thirsty. I got up and went to the kitchen to get a drink of water. I returned and lay on my bed which was next to the window. All of a sudden, I heard a loud scream next to my window, it sounded like a lady who was in pain and crying. I remembered it scared the heck out of me, and I quickly put the covers over my head. Bravely, I took a peak to see who or what it was. I will never forget what I saw. There stood a lady outside the window, staring inside. She wasn't transparent. she looked like a regular person. She had long, dark hair and her eyes were blood-shot red. She had really pale skin. I began shaking so badly that I couldn't stop.
I got up and ran to my parent’s room, screaming as loud as I could. My parents got up scared and asked me what was wrong. I explained to them what happened. They ran to the room to see for themselves. When we went back to my room, there was nothing there. My mother checked the window. As she did, there was a loud bang next door where my godmother lived. The funny thing was that my godmother had a real mean dog that barked really loud when anyone got near it. That night, he was whining real loudly as if he was scared. My parents went outside and found nothing. It was a night I will never forget.
