Ray's Wake Up Call
One morning at 3 a.m. in 1995, I had just dropped a girlfriend off at her house, when I smelt the smell of a cigar. I don't smoke, and I don't let anyone smoke in my car. While I was driving, I turned the radio off. A little bit down the road, I started to doze off. I would wake myself up and roll down my window to stay awake.
As I got further down the road, I dozed off and all of a sudden, I awoke to a voice saying "WAKE UP"! I found myself about to hit a guardrail with a 20-foot embankment. After I came to a sudden stop, I started thinking about the smell and voice. The cigar smoke smelled like the brand my dad smoked (Dutch Master Cigars). And the voice I heard sounded just like my dad's. My dad has been dead since 1991! So, I guess it's safe to say that my dad was watching over me that early morning.
