Ghost Stories

Quick Little Bugger

Urban Legend by Anonymous

This is the legend of a creature that dates back to far before when we were children. His -- or rather, its name is El Cucu.

It is a large creature, around 7'2", and has fur that emanates a smell far worse than rotten eggs, for it lives in the sewers. Its hands are a foot long, with obsidian-like claws that can crush you with a single flick. Its torso is that of a skeleton -- with a bigger capacity for feeding, of course.

And its eyes.

Its eyes are a deep, deep, red, with gold irises and pupils that stare into your soul, hovering above a beak-like mouth ready to tear apart its prey.

But don't worry. It lives mostly in the dark, and is incredibly fast and strong -- but not fast enough to catch up with a subway train. It's a ghoul, so when you're bathing, make sure to plug up the drain so it can't grab you and slurp you down into its lair.

I've recorded and analyzed this creature for most of my life now, and hope to catch it one day.

Remember this, friend: just because it's a legend, doesn't mean it isn't real. I'm even pretty sure I once saw its eyes peeking out at me from the drain, but I dropped a bottle, so it disappeared and I lost it for a long time.

Try not to stay out of the bath tub for too long, fellow supernaturalist, or you'll soon smell like El Cucu.
