Phantom in the Playroom
My grandparents’ house on my dad’s side of the family has been known in the past to have "strange occurrences," and as I am a VERY big fan of the supernatural, I believed everything my family members told me. About half a year ago, my own grandmother, who is always very truthful, told me about the stories about my cousin, Kayla, my grandfather, and herself.
She told me that a few years before I was born, one of my older cousins, Kayla, who was three or four at the time, was always talking about, "The White Lady in the Rocking Chair." My grandmother told me that Kayla told her that "the lady" always sat in a rocking chair in my grandparents’ playroom they had made for their grandchildren. She told me Kayla also used to talk to my grandfather whenever he sat in the big armchair in the living room. Kayla would tell my grandfather, "You shouldn't sit there, Bupa. That’s where the White Lady sits."
Many years later, my grandmother told me she asked my cousin if she still saw the White Lady. Kayla told her yes. Apparently, my grandparents gave the rocking chair my cousin saw her in to my cousin’s mother. Kayla said the following:
"At night when I got up to go to the bathroom, I would always put my hand on the side of my face because whenever I walked by the rocking chair, I could see her. I didn't want to look to the side of me because I knew I always saw her there."
I never knew what happened to that rocking chair, but I found some interesting clues on who the White Lady MIGHT be. My grandmother has pictures of the house from the 1800s. These pictures have been passed on to every buyer of the house since then. One of these pictures is very interesting to me.
In this picture, the house is modeled on what it originally looked like. There are people in the picture standing in front of the house. The first person to the far right is an older looking woman who appears to be dressed all in white. Every time I look at that picture, I wonder if that woman is the "White Lady." Maybe it is. I wish I could see this ghostly woman. It would be amazing.
There hasn't been any talk of "The White Lady" since then, but there are still strange things happening at that house to this day. Could this be the work of The White Lady? No one knows.
