Ghost Stories

My dad is a security guard at a NASA station in Ohio. He has to patrol buildings at night. Many of the buildings are abandoned. The haunted one, however, is not. There are offices in the building for the daytime workers. Even in broad daylight you can see and hear things. About thirty years ago, a man had a heart attack and died in the building. He was a good guy and never had a problem with anyone. For over three decades, strange things have happened at the place. There are cameras mounted above the main entrance. Sometimes, a guard will walk in, and we catch him on tape running out. Once, my dad was checking the building, and he heard loud banging from the basement. It sounded as if someone was taking a hammer to a steel pipe in the basement. I heard the same thing when I went with him once. Another time, a piece of rubber bounced down the steps and landed at his feet. Another time, he took pictures of the building to see if anything would show up. Something did. A large pair of work boots were sitting on the stairs. There was no footwear there before my dad snapped the picture.

One time, he was just leaving the building to go back into the truck, and he heard clear as day, "Hey, Dan. Where ya goin'?" This is an intelligent spirit and even knew his first name. There are good spirits and bad. I am glad to know the spirit that resides in the work building is pleasant and isn't shy.
