Ghost Stories

Over the years, I’ve definitely had my share of unexplainable and strange experiences.

Back when I lived in a haunted house in Oklahoma, my mother told me that a gremlin and fairies lived in the house a couple years ago. I was creeped out, but I really couldn't remember a thing.

Another time, when my cousin and I were nine, we were messing around in my grandma's closet. It suddenly got really cold in there, so my cousin got scared and he ran out of the closet. I was stupid and stayed in the closet. All of a sudden, it got really hot in the closet and I felt something scratch me. Then I ran out of the closet. I know it wasn't a hanger because I wasn't near any hangers. I was just standing in the closet not touching anything except for a couple of Grandma's dresses. Later that night (about 3:00 in the morning), I woke up because my foot was grazing something hot that was by my bed. I pulled the covers off of the floor (I usually just throw my blankets around when I sleep) and nothing was there. I put my foot back down on the floor to see if it was still there but it was gone.

Last year, I went to my little cousin's birthday party at an inflatable bouncy place that was by a mall. When we were driving back (I was in the back seat, Mom was driving, and Grandma was in the passenger seat) we passed a few trees. I looked in one of the trees. There was a hideous hairless brown creature with white eyes. It had large ears and no tail. It just held on to the tree, staring at me.

This year, I spent the night at my friend's house. My two other friends were there. We'll call my friends Jenny, Alice, and Raina for their safety. So anyway, I was spending the night at my friend Raina's house with Jenny. At about 9:00 at night, all four of us went outside to play hide and seek in the dark. I was teamed up with Raina, and Jenny was teamed up with Alice. Raina and I were looking for Jenny and Alice because it was their turn to hide. We were in the backyard looking for them when Raina pointed to her neighbor's jungle gym and said, "Tegan, oh my God, look!"

I looked and I saw a black figure sitting at the top of it. It was pitch black outside (except for the light on in the house), but with the light, we could see that it wasn't just a stupid kid trying to scare us. This thing was black. No face. No clothes. Just a black figure. It scared the bejeesus out of us and we ran to look for Alice and Jenny. When we found them, we told them what happened. Alice got defensive and said that we were just trying to scare her and Jenny. I started crying because I was so scared and kept insisting that it was there. I'm glad that Alice had to go home at 10:00 because that way Raina, Jenny, and I could talk about it without her yelling at us. Raina and I know that her house is haunted. She told me that she had little light pulls with crosses on the end of them. The next day after she put them on, she saw that all of the little crosses weren't on the light pulls anymore and were all under a little table perfectly in the center.

Once, when I went over to her house again, we were coloring a picture on the floor and all of a sudden, I saw a hideous fat centipede fall off of my arm and onto the picture we were coloring! It was huge and disgusting. I would have felt it crawl down my arm like Raina claimed it did, but I didn't know it was there until it fell off of me. I think the spirit that haunts Raina's house hates me for some reason, or it's just an evil presence. I'm pretty sure it dropped the hideous insect on my arm. Raina also told me that when she lived in her old house, she had a dream that giant black ants shoved all of her toys under her bed, and the next day, all of her toys were under her bed.

I’m not sure why these things keep happening in my life, but I’m sure I’m going to have stories to tell for the rest of my life.
