A Personal Experience By Katrina

My mother was in the hospital battling cancer. The doctors told us that there was nothing more they could do for her. To make her comfortable, they were giving her morphine. We were all huddled around her in the hospital room. My uncle was saying his goodbyes with my mom. My mom told my uncle to tell June she said ‘hi’. We all had no idea what she was talking about. We just figured she was really feeling the morphine. My grandmother and I were talking, and she told me that the only June she ever knew was a girl who my mom had gone to school with. She was telling me that my uncle had a crush on her when they were little. Coincidentally, a few months later, my uncle ran into June whom he hadn't seen in years! They hit it off and are now engaged.

Ultimately, my mom passed away six months ago from cancer. One night, I was in a deep sleep. All of a sudden I woke up, and I felt someone touching me. It's hard to explain the way it felt. Then, clear as day, I heard my mom say "I love you". She comes to me in my dreams all the time and talks to me. I wouldn't really call her a ghost, just a protector.
