Ghost Stories

Miss Lavender

Personal Experience by Mollie and Shannon

Years ago, when I was only 11, my mom and stepdad split up. Because of this tragic event, I would sit up in my room and cry. My “roommate” would come and comfort me and tell me everything would be alright. When I was only a young child, she would hold my hand down the stairs and cover my ears when they would argue. She made me laugh and sometimes made me cry.

By the time I was 16, me and my "roommate" had grown apart. She couldn't get over what had happened, and she made bad things happen. I hadn't seen her for at least 4 years, and then she just appeared. I remembered how I used to love her dearly, but this time she threatened me. She said she would kill me and my family and make my baby brother watch. From that moment, I was petrified of even stepping foot in my house. Years passed, and nothing happened, so I thought she was bluffing. No longer was I scared of her.

When I was 21, I saw seen her again. She was wearing a lavender dress with many tight curls upon her head. But what scared me the most was that I had my own place now - my own husband and a little family. She just appeared out of thin air then disappeared. I didn't take any notice, but a week later while washing up, I heard a bang on the door. As I opened the creaky door, my heart dropped. It was like I knew what had happened. That day my husband had stopped breathing at 12pm. The next day, at exactly the same time, I was awakened by a big bang coming from my kitchen. I went downstairs only to see that our home had been broken into, and my little boy had disappeared. He was only 6, so I was worried. I phoned the police immediately. He was nowhere to be found!

A couple of years later, I had still not found my little boy. I was just getting over this tragic event, when I saw her again. But this time, she was holding a tall man’s hand. He looked quite familiar. I turned around only to stare at the picture on the wall. I looked back at the two of them and realized that it was my husband that she had the grip of. I started to cry. "Don't worry. They’re both safe with me." I looked up from a deep trance. “Both?” I asked. "Yes, both." Then she pulled out my little boy from behind her, and they all disappeared.

My little brother has just turned 11. He says he sees things. This lady holds his hand when he cries and tells him it will be ok! "All the arguing will pay off, " she would say. “Your mother will be in a safe place soon! Miss Lavender will take care of her! Never part with me or bad things will happen!" But will they?
