Melissa's Tired Ghost

A Personal Experience By Melissa

When I was 17 years old, I was living with my mom and sisters in Chicago in a basement apartment. It was pretty small, and the kitchen and living room were separated only by a three-foot divider wall. I came home one night about 8:00, and my mother wasn't home, but my twin sisters were sleeping in their room, and all the lights were on throughout the apartment. I sat on the couch and wanted to go to sleep, but realized that I couldn't, until I turned the lights off. When I started to get up, a man came walking from the kitchen and stood in front of the loveseat in front of me and was looking dead at me! He said, "Man, I’m beat. I had a long day at work." I was just sitting there in total shock, and I couldn't move or say a word. The man took his shoes off which appeared to be construction boots, and he smiled at me and walked straight into my sisters’ room. It took about 30 seconds, before I could move, and I ran into my sisters’ room, yelling at them to wake up, screaming that a strange man just came in there. We looked everywhere and found nothing. They asked me if I was okay, and then I even started to doubt myself.

A month later, detectives came to our apartment and asked for a Ms. Johnson. My mother told them that nobody lived here by that name and asked the detectives what was going on. They asked my mom how long she lived there. She told them a couple of months, and they told her that there was a married couple who lived there prior to us, and the husband was murdered right after he got off of work. The case is still open and unsolved.
