It Wants Your Name

Personal Experience by Jovanie

It's November 6, 2009. 4:15p.m. My name’s Jovanie, and, today was my most interesting experience with the other side.

It all started at 3 o’ clock I went over to my next-door neighbor’s apartment. We live in the same complex; she 's a white witch. She showed me the art of tarot, and she showed me my spiritual guardians, which are the owl, the eagle, the spider, the dragon, the deer, and the god of earth. When we finished the tarot session, her daughter Miranda and I went to her room.

Miranda grabbed a small candle and her matches before we went to her room. Before she lit the candle, her mom came in, and she said, ”Before she calls a spirit, you need to have a shield, because when Miranda contacts the other side, there's no telling what can come through, and since your an Empathic, it is crucial that you have one, imagine a light around you, sort of like a force field.”

Miranda said, ”Don't worry, nothing will happen.” I trusted her, so I didn't worry. I did as her mom said. Miranda said, “I haven't talked to Kafeine for a long time; ever since she died in the fire she’s been like my guardian angel—don't worry she’s a shy spirit, but I'm sure she'll like you.”

I closed my eyes, took deep breaths, and imagined a force field around me. Miranda lit a candle. “You ready?” she asked.

“Yeah “ I replied.

She closed her eyes and took deep breathes, and so did I, I opened my eyes and the candle’s fire was dancing from one side to the other. I felt something heavy behind me and I got the chills. I looked at Miranda she looked at me. “Something got through, but it's not Kafeine,” she said. She picked up another candle that was on the ground, and she took more deep breaths.

This time I continued to look at her, but I kept taking deep breathes. She looked down at her knees, as she was sitting cross-legged. She had this creepy grin that sent a chill down my spine; she looked frozen, and she dropped the candle in her hand. “Miranda?” I said. “Miranda, are you okay? Oh my god, should I call your mom?”

She wouldn't answer, then she looked up at me, and she said, “It wants to know your name.”

I was scared. She closed her eyes and the feel of the room got a bit lighter. She turned off the candle, and we went back to the hall where her mom was standing. I was so ecstatic to tell her about my current experience. “Miranda tried to call Kafeine, but something else got through,” I told her.

Miranda followed me up and she said, “Mom I almost slipped,” but I was still so surprised by what had happened. I had dozens of questions in my head, like why did it want my name, what was it, or what were its intentions.

I asked, “What was it, a guy or a girl?”

Miranda's mom, aka Sissy, said, ”I felt it come in—it was definitely a male.” She studied the room as if looking for something, declared, “It’s gone,“ and turned and looked at Miranda. “You sent it back, right?” she asked.

“Of course,” she replied.

Then I asked Miranda, “What did you mean you almost slipped?”

She said, ”I almost lost control.”

Her mom added, ”Which means that whatever wanted to meet you was strong enough that it almost possessed Miranda. When I looked at the time, it was already 4:14 p.m. I was surprised, and I fear that what wanted me is still watching me.
