Ghost Stories

It Must Have Been Jenny

Personal Experience by Mollie and Shannon

It all started when I was 4 years old and my family moved unexpectedly into a house over in Yorkshire. The house was a cottage, with black vines over the walls and a plain white brick fire place on the inside. I was an only child and my mom was 32 when we moved into this house. She died when I got to the age of 12. She was found stashed underneath the computer desk. Her spine was bent in fourteen places and both of her arms where broken. She had suffered from brain damage ever since I was born.

She started to use the computer about 5 years after we moved into the house. We found the computer sitting under the stairs in the middle of a clear-out. Then, 3 years later, we found her underneath the computer desk. It didn’t look like it was suicide and I did not do it. However, my dad acted quite suspicious as the next day we found him hanging around in front of the bedroom window.

Now I’m 32 years old. Coincidentally, I met my husband on my mom’s computer, and I held on to the computer as a memory of her. With 2 children and a husband, I still have time to fit a couple of hours on the computer now and again. It was a Wednesday afternoon and the kids were at school. I managed to get a chance on the computer finally! I had not been on for at least 2 years and I forgot how to use the keyboard, the mouse, and just the computer itself. I clicked the button to turn the computer on. Nothing happened - the screen was blank. Suddenly, all my old pals email addresses popped up from years ago. As I went to click on one of the contacts, the screen went blank again. Then out of nowhere, photos of my mother came up on the screen. Then the license plate of my mom’s best friend Jenny popped up on the screen and the ringtone of my mom’s phone at the time started playing. I thought of this was a sign. I was having visions. I started smelling the scent of petrol. It must have been Jenny.
