Ghost Stories

Hushabye, Baby

Personal Experience by Sarra

"Bored, is I. Oh, so very, very boooored." I said , staring at the fuzzy tv.

"HUSH!"

My eyes widened, and I propped myself up on the couch, dropping the remote.

Mom? No, she went to Walmart.

Sister? No, she had to get water...

But, then who?

I listened closely for the voice again.

"Hushabye, baby, your almost dead."

Wh-what?! I jumped up from my seat, nearly knocking my glass of lemonade over. I ran to my room, grabbing my pocket knife, and began searching every room.

Kitchen... Clear. Bathroom... Clear. Living room... Clear. My room... Clear. Moms room... My eyes widened in horror.

The baby.

A little girl in a black dress with no eyes stood atop my baby brother, bloody knife in hand. It almost seemed like she was..

Floating.

I looked down.

"...J-joshua?"

There lay my baby brother, neck slashed viciously, blood flowing out of the cut.

"N-n-no..."

Hot tears stain my face as I picked him up gently and lay him against my chest. His heart wasn’t beating. The little girl whispered into my ear with a cackle,

"Hushabye, baby, your almost dead.

You have no pulse and your pillow is red."
