Great Grandmother's Gift
My great grandmother was 100 years old when she died. I was very young at the time, so I never really knew her.
Great grandmother’s bedroom held all kinds of things that have been in my family for many, many years. Some of the items were way older than her! Many kids were born in that room and some also died.
After my great grandmother died, we eventually moved from Kentucky to Florida. Around the time I was 14, my dad had the bright idea to take everything in great grandmother’s bed room from Kentucky and bring it to Florida. Sure enough, within a few weeks, my great grandma’s room was right down the hall from mine.
One night, I was walking back to my room to say good night to my brother, when I saw something out of the corner of my eye right. Right in front of my bedroom door was a huge, white figure floating in mid air! It took up the whole hallway. I ran and hid like any child would do. I yelled for them for 10 minutes. I was shaking really bad, and I was pale and really cold. When they got to me, my parents pulled me out and showed me there was nothing there. But I know what I saw.
Now, I’m 18, and we moved to a new house. Sure enough, now my brother and his wife and my friends hear my great grandmother’s voice at night - usually around 3 a.m. My desk chair also moves when no one’s in it, and doors open and close on their own. My father thinks that we are all imagining things, but we know it’s real. I hear the noises every night, but I have just gotten used to it, and now it doesn’t bother me.
