Dead Girl in the Bathroom
I was in the bathroom with this girl named Maria. I heard knocking from the sink area, but I thought it was water dripping. I went to the sinks and Maria came behind me. We were looking in the mirror, and to the disbelief of us both, a girl of about nine years old was standing behind us. She was in a yellowish-white dress covered in blood! We were so shocked. She stared at us and said suddenly, "I'm Sara, hi," and then vanished. We sprinted back to the cafeteria, trembling.
Later, Maria and I looked up the history of our school. We learned that, in fact, a nine-year-old girl named Sara was murdered in the bathroom. She was stabbed 4 times before she was left to bleed to death. There was a picture of Sara on the website, and she was wearing the exact same dress we had seen in the bathroom.
Her murderer was never found, the article said. We figured that's why she couldn't rest in peace. Neither Maria nor I have seen her ever again, but we used to experience mysterious taps and knocks on the walls around us, and occasional pokes in the back, as if Sara was trying to get our attention. When we whirled around, though, there was never anything there.
We have since moved on to middle school, but we will never forget the experience we had with the tortured soul of poor Sara.
