Bernadette's Long Way Home

Personal Experience by Tracey

My name is Tracey, and I am a sensitive. I have been since birth. Over the years, my abilities have grown so much so that I can now feel, hear and see what the spirit went through, although sometimes it can become a bit overwhelming.

Last June, I stepped into the shower and, half way through, the room started to spin. I closed my eyes for a moment, and when I opened them, I found myself being held under water by my husband’s hands! I looked up into the face of a man I somehow knew was my husband. His hands were around my throat, as he held me under water. It was "lake" water. I could taste the algae. I saw the trees and the grassy slope behind him. I remember the feeling of panic, of hopelessness, of knowing I wouldn't see my daughter grow up, then nothing. Just the dark.

This all happened in a matter of moments, but it felt as though hours had passed - as though everything and everyone was moving in slow motion. As I opened my eyes, I was back safe and sound in my apartment. I didn't know what to make of this experience. I made my way out of the shower, still smelling the grass and mud and tasting the lake water in my mouth. I sat down in the living room and just started to cry. I cried out of fear, regret and loss. Both my son and my mother live with me and are generally used to my "weird" experiences, but this time it was different. I explained what I had gone through in the shower. I told them that I "knew" that the man who killed me had been in the sheriff's department and that we were going through a divorce. The person that was killed had light brown hair with blond highlights and was wearing a pink jacket with black pants the day she was killed.

After calming down and not knowing what to do with this information, I just asked my guides to lead me in the right direction. One month to the day later, I received a phone call from a paranormal group here in Maryland asking me for my help with a missing person case. Her name was Bernadette, and she was reported as missing 23 years ago. She and her husband were going through a bitter divorce. After I got off the phone, more flashes came. I saw a long trail, small cemetery in the woods with only one way in and one way out, a broken down abandoned stone house and the lake only feet away. I heard dogs barking and the sound of horses. There was a bike trail near our apartment. I've never ridden a bike in my life so that is an important point to remember. My son told me that the bike trail was only 2 miles from our apartment. He pulled up a map on the internet and found the spot that I had seen in these flashes. While he was on the computer, I looked over his shoulder and saw a young woman who I felt was Bernadette. We drove over the next day and, sure enough, there was the cemetery, a stone house from the civil war period, and the lake. I looked around to see the same young woman pointing to the direction of the lake. It was Bernadette. My only wish is that we can find her remains before her mother passes and bring closure to this family.
